those trees planted in the previous 2 years.

Saturdays: Volunteers meet at Glenview School, Bedford St, Porirua at 9.30am and down tools at 12.30pm.
Our tools are stored at Glenview School, and the walk in from there is shorter. But you can still walk in from Cannons Creek, as the walk back is a gentler slope. If you need more information, phone Neil and Juliet on 04 - 235 5501.

Winter, the season for planting, is coming!
We need another 5000 tree collars made for this year's plantings.
We re-cycle used cardboard cartons, cutting and slotting them.
One collar for each seedling planted.
The collars prevent weed growth that can smother small trees.
The collars also act as mulch.
More helpers are needed for this important light duty task.
It's fun to do with other helpers, or at home.
Or, help us get another group going on a different day
at our Glenview workshop.
We have loads of cardboard on hand.

Our tree nursery occupies a courtyard in the Administration Block at Porirua College. They also supply seedlings and potting mix for use with Porirua College classes.
We warmly thank Porirua College and Trees for Survival.

What's involved: Each week a cheery group of volunteers gathers at our nursery to work potting-on seedlings into milk cartons for planting out when they are large enough. We also prick out small seedlings into root trainers and care for germinating seeds. We are caring for a wide range of locally sourced natives for our regeneration project, at all stages of their growth.
Where: A courtyard in the Administration Block at Porirua College, Driver Crescent, Eastern Porirua. Come to the College's front door and ask.
How frequently: every Thursday morning, 10am - 12.30pm
Interested visitors and helpers are always welcome. Phone Neil and Juliet on 04 - 235 5501.
During Winter plantings, and Spring & Summer tree care, we think there may be many folk who could come on a Tuesday or Thursday, weekly or fortnightly, and give a few hours.
Are you retired, a part-time worker or not in employment, a parent with time while children are at kindy or school?
We would like to create a group of people like you to help during the week.
Want to offer to help? Please phone Juliet on (04) 235.5501 or email info@MaaraRoa.org.nz.
